Diamond in the Rough

There is something about the simple magic of ocean waves. They beckon us to play, sing a melody that centers our soul and recall to mind the awesome power of the every changing sea. This painting celebrates a tiny hidden cove where the ultimate "surf shack" has been crafted. The roofline, composition, and focus are all inspired by the gentle curved form of an ocean wave. Resources found by the seashore are woven around a large swaying coconut palm. An array of surfboards finds their way into the architecture. Keep looking! There are many little treasures to discover in this painting. Notice the lucky gecko catching the early warmth of the sunrise in the foreground. The bamboo "surf slide" assures the inhabitant of never missing the perfect wave. All this enchantment perches before the greatest view of Diamond Head on the Island.
