VINTAGE 1960s NEW ZEALAND MAORI WEAPON CLUB TIKI CARVED

Here is a unique New Zealand club from the 1960's called Wahaika. As you can see from the picture, the attention to details is amazing. The weapon features a Maori Tiki god in the front of the club and measures 13 inches. I was told by an expert that some of the weapons were made out of heavy resine (this one is) but that the production stopped in the 60's because during close combat the weapons made out of resine was causing more damage than the one made out of wood. It is about twice as heavy as a wooden club!
